Welcome!

The Covina Rotary Club was founded in 1923 as one of the first Rotary Clubs in the San Gabriel Valley. Our Club is one of the oldest, most respected in the area and has served the community and the world while having a great time in the process.

The Covina Rotary Club is involved in local, community based service projects, providing both financial and hands-on support. We also support the Rotary International Foundation in its many projects around the world, including the "Polio Plus" global poilio eradication effort.

While serving the community is the primary scope of our Club, equally important is the sociall aspect, whereby lifelong friendships are cultivated as we work and play together. We invite you to join us for lunch to find out if you'd qualify to be one of the best - a Covina Rotarian!

---- Craig Cerro
President 2011-2012

We meet on every Thursday, at the South Hills Country Club in West Covina. Meetings begin at 12:10, and include lunch, social time and a speaker. Service Projects
In addition to offering financial support to various community based agencies, we also participate in many of the Rotary International sanctioned projects at the club and district levels, provide the man power for special local projects, and run several of our own Covina Rotary Club community welfare programs. These club programs are directed towards helping children, seniors, teachers, our troops abroad, and needy families at Christmas. The various programs are outlined in more detail in the projects link.

Events
The events fall into three major categories:

Fund raising events help to supply the funding for our various charitable endeavors. Our major fund raiser is the Fun Run, which is held in April. The date for the 2011 Fun Run will be determined shortly. We will have a “Polio Plus” event this fall, and a Covina Playhouse event early in 2011.

Rotary events that bring multiple clubs together are scheduled throughout the year. The annual District Conference is attended by a group from our club each year, and the International Convention is attended by our incoming President. There are also opportunities throughout the year to attend District sponsored events that provide Rotary education and leadership training.

Social events for our members and their families are scheduled throughout the year. We have a wonderfully cohesive membership that enjoys socializing as well as working together. The activities include our “Kick-out” party at the end of the year, our Saint Patrick’s Day party, an occasional evening of dinner and a play in L.A., smaller dinner parties at members’s homes, parties catering to members with children. For the holidays, we host our traditional family oriented Christmas luncheon, an adult evening social, and other events that happen to catch the interest of our members.
